See ya in a minute!!!

ST -

Sorry you can't make it down to St. Lou....we'll take lots of video and pics! I know Pete will have his vid camera there, and I'll take mine, also.

Maybe we can get to Vancouver sometime for the Canada L1 Convention. Smile

Just met Ken and the Bose Crew late Friday night. We happened to be playing an otherwise uneventful gig at the hotel in St. Louis where they are staying and they stumbled upon us using our L1.

Serendipity indeed. Very cool to meet the Bose posse in town for the Midwest L1 Enthusiasts gathering. Hope it goes well.

We will do our best to stop by the event on Saturday.

Regards,

mo (& dawn)

Here is a note from Chris-at-Bose (sent via his iPhone).

quote:

Serendipity already. The music at our hotel bar tonight is by Mo (keys, trax) & Dawn, (vocals, trumpet!) "soul jazz and electronica", and by total coincidence they are L1 users.

We invite them to the conference tomorrow. At first they are a bit skeptical about us, but
we get to talking during their teardown. They give us each CDs of their music. Dawn shows us that their bags have not lasted well (pix #1,2). Neil gets an idea. By accident, we had some new Model 2's shipped ahead to the hotel and he goes looking for them. I get the same idea and we open up a new carton in the hall, grab a fresh pair of bags and swap them with Dawn. Voila, customer satisfied (pic #3).

Hope they join us tomorrow.
Chris

Yes - this is the same mo (& dawn ) from two posts up.

I had to re-read Chris' note twice. I think he meant Model I's "by accident" & not Model II's.

Hi all,
I second ST and Tom's emotion. I would also LOVE to be there. Any time spent with the at-Bose folks and other users is really well spent. Enjoy, and keep us all posted.
I'm just finishing a week in Nashville at a huge fingerstyle guitar players convention with some of the best players in the world. I'm trying to steal some new licks.

The sound at the convention is pretty good at best, with one exception. In the lounge area, The Hotel has placed an L1 classic double bass.
The acts that I have heard there sounded wonderful!! Go Bose!

I also took some time off and went to the local Bose store where they have a demo on the model II with the tone engine. I had a chance to work with the T1 for a few minutes. I orderd one several weeks ago for my self and 2 for my church. It will be worth the wait!!! It's great.

Sorry, I got off topic a bit. You folks have fun.

Blessings,

Rick Jordan (rwj)

Sorry guys. A brutal week at work and some family commitments have left me high and dry in Chi-town. I'll be thinking of you all having fun.

+1 for the 'keep us posted' request. I so wish that I was there. (Nuthah-bruthah-to-be has yet to make his grand entrance. Had I gone to St. Louis, chances were too good that I'd miss it...)

Tom, the standard L1 bags for classics, Model 1s & IIs are quite similar, to the point of being interchangeable. The ones in picture 3 look exactly like those that came with my Model II (velcro strap on one of the handles)...

All the best,

Chuck

Chuck,

I was mainly referring to Chris' statement that the Model II's had been shipped ahead by accident. I knew they were going to demo the Model II & T1, so I figured that Chris meant the Model I's had shipped "by accident" instead of Model II's. I have the Model II myself & know that the bags are very similar.

Still wish I could be there. I'm heading out to the gig in a few minutes, so I'll give up my Jonesing in a bit.

Congrats on the new baby when he's born!

Best -

Tom

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the congrats. We're pretty excited. Henry (3 yrs) is getting impatient, regularly pressing his face against Mom's belly and shouting "C'mon bruthah, come out!"

I read the 'accident' above as Model IIs being shipped to the hotel instead of to the venue. Oh well, glad that Dawn got new bags, thanks to Neil thinking on his feet...

Hope we get some news from the St. Louis crew soon! I'll bet it was amazing...

Chuck

I'm on vacation at a WiFi spot right now just checking the board, and can't stay long, but thought I'd just say a couple of things regarding the weekend. IT WAS WONDERFUL!!!

My heartfelt THANKS go out to the at-Bose guys, Ken, Neil & Chris! How could I ever thank you three enough? What a wonderful day we all had hearing your comments, checking out the new gear, and actually getting to play some tunes through it! WOW! Then you top it off with the biggest surprize ever!!! I think Col. Andy was just a tad overwhelmed!!! How could he not be???!!!

Anyway, I'll have more to share with everyone later, including some video and pics, after my vacation! It was SO nice to meet those of you that came to the event from around the Midwest, especially, Pete, Nathan and Carrie! Hope to see ya'll again real soon!

I'd just like to say a special "thanks" to Chris for his EXCELLENT, I mean REALLY EXCELLENT demostration on sound theory and the B1. What a wonderful presentation! Also, to Ken for all you provided and did for us and to Neil, who made it so easy for us to really enjoy ourselves with the new gear!!! Class act, guys! None better... Hope you all had a safe and uneventful trip back home and please be sure to thank any "significant others" for allowing you to spend your weekend with us!

Hey, Tom,

The "accident" was actually (paraphrased without complete details) that the model II's were sent to both the Bottleworks and the Hotel. An attempt was made to halt the shipping on one of the orders, but it still got out and delivered. So, instead of the one or two systems we thought we might see there, we got to see and use three. I think there was a fourth system which stayed in the box. A pretty nice accident, don't you think?

(disregard this specific post - I am just checking to see if I updated my signature link accurately; I couldn't find another way to do it)

(EDIT: and it looks like it worked)
