Dear Musicians Community:
For all of you that have expressed interest in a Midwest gathering for this summer, thanks a bunch. And if you are planning on coming, we look forward to seeing you! Within the next week or two – let’s say by May 15th - I hope to be able to give you some solid details on the schedule, venue, any associated costs, and other FUN stuff. But we need your help!
One thing that we know for sure is the date: Saturday, July 14th. This may extend, but no more than Friday evening, 7-13 to Sunday afternoon, 7-15. And we’re 99% certain that a site within the St. Louis metro area will play host.
Please click on the link at the bottom of my post. That will take you to the Wiki planning page where you can see where we are so far on the event. You will also find an attendance list.
If you are planning on coming, or are even tentative, then please let me know here or via a PM.
The venues that we have in mind vary, and certainly we want to accommodate everybody comfortably. We don’t want to pick someplace too small, or secure a larger facility, then only a few folks show. I am sure most can appreciate that. Please think about it. Given our tentative attendees, plus the pretty certain ones, it looks like we will be thinking more seriously about the larger venue ideas, and more than a one day affair.
On behalf of the “planning committee”, thank you very much for your input!
BBE and others thanks for doing this organizing/hosting of the "convention". We are good with Sat and Sun, or Fri or both. We plan to visit Branson a few days before or after the meeting. I plan to only bring my guitar and accessories unless there is something else needed. I don't think we will have room for the Bose with a week's luggage for 2, and I would worry about theft during the extended part of our trip.
Ooops, kind of forgot about this. I just sent an e-mail to the band to determine interest. I'll keep you posted.
Sounds like a good time and good opportunity for exchange of information and ideas.
I would be interested in attending and it would be a party of two.
I put you down as tentative, Art. Thanks for dropping by!
Still working on details, folks. Thank you for your patience!
Look forward to hearing more details. No hurry.
