Neil-at-Bose gets the Model II systems and the T1 ToneMatch™ audio engines set up.
There was high interest in the T1s. Most of the attendees had used the online flash tool for the T1 and had a good sense of how they worked. During the day we noticed the musicians easily learning how to use the devices.
For example, folks quickly got in the habit of muting channels when they left the stage. Others found the FX Mute feature useful when they wanted to say something between songs.
Andy used a Variax Acoustic to great effect, switching between different models for various songs. He's got a lovely, captivating baritone voice, and a very natural delivery. He had everybody in the palm of his hand within a few bars of the first tune.
Not unlike his buddy, and other pioneering member of this community, oldghm.
At the end of the conference, late in the evening, we gave away some beautiful Bose ToneMatch and Model II jackets, and the grand prize of a new Model II and T1 engine.
Chris's explanations of the physics of low frequency (bass) waves in rooms was so clear and compelling you could see the light bulbs going on over people's heads.
As in Big Sur and Ashland, we wove lots of music into the conference. Here's a shot of John Nell's band (or part of it) during one of the musical interludes.
Wayne of the band was a great storyteller and player. He'd just returned from a songwriters conference centered around the legendary Woodie Guthrie. Wayne sang a few beautiful songs from The Great Depression.
Here's the band Bob brought. They sang three-part harmonies. Bob plays a Taylor and gets a great tone. Later in the evening he dialed in some Chorus on the new T1 engine to get a 12-string kind of sound.
Rick, the lead vocalist and guitarist for the cubs was a fantastic musician, and quickly became a personal favorite of mine.
Rick used the microphone superbly, "eating" it when he wanted to be at his loudest and backing off to control volume. He gave a clinic in microphone technique.
He sang and played almost entirely with his eyes closed.
BabyBlueEyes (Nathan) of this community, to whom we're so grateful for being the principal organizer and protagonist for this conference, joined The Cubs and knocked everybody out with his singing.
Nathan used a Shure remake of their old classic. The mic sounded absolutely natural and Nathan was another singer who could give a clinic in technique.
