Tim Dion and Dave Gore of Composite Acoustics (Nashville) came in today for a ToneMatch(TM) work session in our live music theater. We created a bunch of really useful voicings for their amazing non-wood instruments, molded of carbon fiber cloth and epoxy resin. The instruments are beautiful in a space-age way and have the tone of a traditional acoustic guitar. These TM presets, like a bunch of others we are working on, will be widely available by spring. But we'll probably have a set of these loaded into the L1 systems that CA will be using at the Anaheim NAMM show, end of next month. We created tone shapes that recreated the sound of the guitars themselves for a "traditional" (Vintage is CA's model), a larger-body and brighter "Legacy" and a new acoustic-electric "X". They all look like mirror-polished carbon fiber molded parts you see on racing Ferrari's or custom high-end motorcyles. The tops are done in a black "sunburst" where the CF is visible on the interior and on a beautiful trim section. The photos don't do the instruments justice, but I'll show some (first photo is the Legacy and Vintage on our stage).

Here's a website for more info: http://www.compositeacoustics.com/ (and probably better photos)

Cliff

Any idea how the new TM will be distributed to current L1 owners...meaning, it sounds like more and more TM will be added.

New cd's issued everytime with new listings (like the Taylor TM) or maybe a download from the internet??

Just curious.

In April we'll have a MUCH easier way to load all of these presets. Hang in there.

What a trip!!! Cliff, thanks again for such an amazing time at Bose. To listen to the L1 and tweak the EQ for Tone Match was such a privilege. I'm so looking forward to trying out the presets we worked on. You guys (and gals!) ROCK!
