As the number of PS1/Pod XT Live users keeps growing, I've been wondering - Is anyone interested in a forum for sharing their favorite patches? The distinction between this and what is already offered by Line 6 is that we all use the Bose® Personalized Amplification System™ family of products. I'm thinking that we could attach a file and a brief description with each post - style, guitar type, pickup, output mode, etc...

I've been putting a half dozen of my favs (old school, classic rock and blues types) into the Guitar Center displays in my territory. I'd be happy to share them on the forum and will do so, if I or anyone can figure out how (ST - Help!)...

If you've got the server space, I've got the time... We'll go honky tonk'n and we'll have a time...

Anyway, the only clunky thing I've noticed about sharing POD XT patches is if the user has the optional model packs installed or not.

I've gotta couple I've tweaked that work well for me but they won't do you any good without the extra model/effects pack.

Chuck.. that would really be great to share personal tweaks and patches ... after I read your post on how you mimicked your Mesa so well, I was actually gonna inquire if you might be so kind as to share your settings...

Everything is so different using the Bose with the PODxt live that a forum specifically for that purpose would be so fun and interesting...!

Count me in.
Ciao, the Joseph

Well i can set up an FTP site to share our PODxt patches as well as custom tones and model packs but in order to do this we must trust the people that upload and download since i will have no encryption on the FTP and we dont want to get a virus of somebody you know..

Hit me up if you guys are interested!

I think this would be a great idea!!! I have been working with my acoustic guitar and the xtlive here lately. I just can't seem to get the same sound as I get through my LR Baggs para DI.

I would be interested - especially on the acoustic side since there isn't much for the VAX 700 acoustic on the XTL

Hey all,

Busier'n a one-armed paper hanger lately, but I'm glad to see so much interest in this idea. I put my Champ up on Line 6's Custom Tone Library last week. I just tried putting up my Acoustic patch, but they seem to be offline at the moment. I'll try again later and will keep you posted...

Quick suggestion - when creating tones for acoustic with the XT Live, start with the Amp switch OFF (BYPASS)...

You go Chuck... luck is on your side!

Meanwhile ... using the Line 6 PODxt Live, here's a very easy recipe you can dial in by hand for a soft Pat Metheny type of tone ...

It makes just about any guitar, including neck position single coils, have a sweet, round, attack.

Note: Make sure you roll the tone control way back if not using a hollow or semi-hollow body (and even if you are...). This tone is meant to almost eliminate or totally soften the attack with an added lingering echo.

METHENY-ISH

AMP: (32)
Class 4-30 TB
Drive -5, Bass -5 1/2, Mid -1 1/2, Treble -5, Presence -off, Volume-6 1/2

MOD:
Sine Chorus
Speed -2.67HZ, Depth -28%, Mix -45%, Bass -50%, Treble -35%

DELAY:
Analog Delay
Time: Doted Eighth Note, Feedback -41%, Mix -36%, Bass -50%, Treble -21% Post Config

REVERB:
Lux Spring
ON, Dwell -50%, Mix -27%, Tone -50%

Use Bose Output Mode for live playing.

But with Studio Direct use:

Cab 14: 2X12 Class A
Mic: 1-57 on Axis
40% Room

Try it out and see if ya like it...

(Interesting fact: Pat Metheny uses a paper thin pick and uses his thumb and first two fingers to hold it...)

Ciao, the Joseph

Hey buddies!

I´d like to get some patches to my POD XTL.

I tried the customtone site, but I want to hear other´s people settings.

There is any site for trading / downloading patches?

Thanks!

I don't have the L1 or PODXTL, but wanted to listen to some of the custom tones from the Custom Tone Library, as I am considering purchasing both. Is it possible to hear these tones on my computer? My computer keeps telling me it does not know what program created the download. Thanks.

custom tone tones/patches can't be heared. They're just a file that contains all settings needed for the Line 6 gear at hand (like the PODxt)

The paches themselves don't contain audio.

If you want to hear them you need to have Line 6 Edit to grab them off the Custom Tone website and load them into your modeler (PODxt). Thenj play guitar using it and you'll hear what it sounds like.

Hope it helps
