Haven't posted in a while but felt I had to after this.

This is, by a large margin, better than any other POD. If you ever used a Vetta, this is it in a floor version. They have removed any of the degects from the xtLive (clips easy, thin sounding with some settings) and packed every Line 6 model in there.

Running two amps at once is fantastic (I really missed this from my Vetta). The controls and editing are very easy to use, it is designed very well and the builtin comp/boost feature allows me to remove a pedal out of my rig (if you play in a multiple guitar group and never feel like your solo breaks are loud enough, this is the answer).

I've always liked Line 6 products and was a little disappointed with the xtLive, but this makes up for it.

No BOSE specific output mode on this (which I din't like anyway).

I bought one, also. I am still trying to get it set up. Hopefully, I'll have everything working for my gigs this weekend.

I plan on running my Olson through 1 channel and my mic through the vocal preamp channel on my intimate restaurant gig Thursday.

On Friday and Sat I'll play the Crowdster Plus stereo out--electric tone and acoustic tone to different channels.

It's a Wonderful Life.
Great tuner, BTW. I love that tuner.

I've been checking that out as well, but for the vocals effects/bass. Would be handy to be able to have vocal effect and my bass effects taken care of one unit.

How does putting a mic through this work? XLR in the pod + your instrument, and then both out one output into the L1?

The preamps for vocals sound pretty good and the bass presets are nice also. I havn't reaqlly used them much into the L1, mostly used the vocals and bass with S/PDIF for direct recording. I've been happy with the results so far (better than the preamps on my Roland vs2400).

I just found out about the X3 and love the concept being a one-man band config. I have one question regarding the outputs: The specs say there is a 1/4" stereo and a XLR stereo output. Is that two separate outputs or a choice of one stereo output. For my application a 1/4" for my guitar and a XLR for my mic to two channels on my L1 is what I want. I control my mic volume on the R1 and my guitar volume on mt XTlive pedal.
Ant feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Corona Steve,

I grabbed this picture from the Line6 site for the X3 live.
http://line6.com/podx3live/

Wouldn't it be simpler to run the microphone direct to the L1™ ?

PS

I did a little more reading and it looks like there are some interesting things inside the X3 Live for the vocalist.

I'm looking at the Pod X3 Live Manual now.

It looks like you can route the Guitar and Vocal to separate outputs.

Here is a clip from the manual. Are we getting close to an answer for you?

Thanks ST. Appears there are 2 outputs. I was going to get a T1 so I could have some "effects" on my vocals but when I saw the X3 offer the mic preamps and some effects as well I thought I could get more bang for the buck with the X3 providing I could route the guitar and mic outputs to two separate channels on the L1.
Looks like a Guitar Center recon mission is next.
Thanks again!

Hey Corona Steve,

That manual for the POD X3 Live warrants a close read.

I just gave it a quick run-through. I didn't read it with a view to comparing it with a T1™. But as you give this more thought, please let us know what you decide.

Peeked at the X3 today at the guitar center. Do let us know what you think of the vocal capability along with the guitar effects for the unit, ok?

thanks,
Jan

I am new to this board, and considering an L1 with one B1 for use as a small venue PA. I run a vocal mike and Variax acoustic 700 through a POD X3 Live for solo performances. This allows me to switch tunings, guitar effects, and vocal effects I have set up for various songs, by using the X3 footswitches.

I am thinking of routing the output from the X3 into a Bose system, using the X3 as the "mixer" and effects unit. (The X3 has XLR line outs for this sort of application.)

Does anyone have any experience using a POD X3 Live with a Bose system in a similar fashion. If so, how has your experience been?

Thanks for any info.

Hi John. I'm currently thinking about upgrading to the x3.

Can you have the patches set so that when you switch to a different patch it also switches a vocal effect on and or off.

That is, say you had a good bass patch you liked. Some songs you don't want effects and others you do. You you make a B of this patch and then piggy back a vocal effect. So that with one click your vocal effect went on? And then when you went back to B it was off?
