Hi, everyone. Smile

I'm 19 and have recently decided to try to teach myself to play a new instrument. I've been playing the piano for about 10 years now, and though I love it, I'd like a new challenge. However, I have no money for lessons - it'd have to be an instrument that I could, in time, master on my own.

My first inclination was to buy a violin (which I originally wanted to play), but I've been cautioned about its difficulty level and am sure it'd require more patience than I have. Besides the guitar, of course, what other stringed instruments could I consider? How difficult would they be to become familiar with?

Thanks!
