I tried this in the Taylor Guitars General Discussion but I think I might have more luck here.

I'm taking my L1 Classic with me on a trip next week so I set it up tonight just to be sure it works. I plugged my new (to me) Taylor 810ce into channel two and used the Taylor 810 preset number 49. I really like it! I think I like it better than the the Taylor Dreadnought Strum preset I am using with my T1. Could that be?

Are the Taylor presets in my T1 based on just the instrument or the instrument with the ES pickup system? If the presets in my T1 are only based on the instrument, is there a way to get that preset number 49 into my T1?

Thanks!
Matt

Sure it could! 49 is a different curve and your ears know what they like...

As far as I know, the Taylor bank of presets for the T1 were created while listening to the instruments with the ES pickup system. I'm not aware of a way to get ol' 49 into a T1. I'll ask one of the engineers (Mike Z?) to chime in...

All the best,

Chuck

Matt,

the Taylor bank was made listening to ES instruments, as was 49.

i do not believe 49 made it in to the T1, but ill check. if it isn't in a bank, ill put it in one in the next couple days.

Hi Mike,

When the T1 came out I think it was Mike in Texas Tom Munch who first noticed that Preset 49 was not carried forward from Classic Presets Version 2.0 into the T1®.

I did a map of what was and was not there in the T1® (compared to Presets 2.0).

T1 ToneMatch Presets with Equivalent Version 2 presets - Excel format.

Anything marked as n/a in Column B did not appear in the T1® Presets. That should make more sense when you open the Excel file.

There was another discussion about missing Presets here in:

Missing electric guitar Presets

and another T1® Purgatory

To all: we have more notes about this in Presets (T1 ToneMatch®).

edit: Added second link to previous discussion about Preset 49

Yeah, I really miss old 49. It was my "go to" preset for a lot of situations. I'd gladly welcome it back!

Indeed - Rivers West used 49 for all our guitars, long before I got my Taylor... getting that one back would be very useful and comforting to know it was there - thanks!

Just bumping this back to the top and checking to see if there are any updates for those of us still missing this preset.

Thanks!

My Taylor isn't equiped with an ES, but I'm intrigued to try ole number 49 myself for kicks and giggles.

49 was / is my fav when using the Classic w/o the T1. When using the T1, I don't miss it at all. zEQ and para eq make it so easy to get good tone with several of the currently offered presets.

Oldghm,
I do know what you mean. I am quite satisfied with my 810ce through my T1. I use the Taylor Dreadnought Strum preset, use the zEQ to dump the mids anywhere from -5.0 - -7.0 depending on the show and the venue and then take a -7.0 db cut at 440 with the Para EQ and that works for me.

But the last time I had my Classic set up I tried the old 49 and I liked it a bit better than the sound I am getting with my T1. Maybe it is because preset 49 is for an 810ce as opposed to a general dreadnought. I don't know but I liked it.

I think I'm letting go of my 810 in a couple of weeks. I ordered a transparent blue 610ce so maybe I won't care as much about old 49 when that happens.

I still love 49 as well. Cliff did a great job on that one - useable for so many different situations for me. I love so many of the new presets, but I still find myself missing 49 too sometimes.

Just checking in with this thread to see if there has been any progress with finding a way to put old preset 49 into the T1.

I flew to Milwaukee last weekend for a show and borrowed a friend's L1 Classic. I had my Taylor with me and used good old 49 and again, really enjoyed the sound of my guitar. I would love to get this into my T1.

Thanks for any help or advice,
Matt

It would sure be nice to have 49 ported to the T1, that has always been my favorite acoustic guitar preset on the classic L1

I was doing double duty today in Key West. I was running a songwriters' showcase at the Southernmost Beach Cafe and playing for a Sunset Cruise. I set up my Classic at the Cafe and used Taylor Preset 49 for my Cole Clark. Sounded fantastic!

Please, Please, Please can there be a way to get this preset into the T1?

Matt
