I've recently bought an L1 system with tonematch and want to use it with a Hofner President 1966 semi-acoustic guitar. I'd be grateful for any advice on the best tonematch settings to use for this instrument. Many thanks,

That looks a lot like a slim L5.

As at start I would try:

Category: Electric Guitars
Preset: General Direct

This gives you roughly frequency response you'd get running through a 12" guitar speaker cabinet.

For this kind of guitar I also like these two:
