I'm glad this board is here even though I never have to frequent it anymore! Smile

I'm a very long time Model 1 user- I seriously believe I've got to be one of the first handful of users. I purchased mine weeks after it came out. I had no interest in upgrading when the Model 2 and the T1 came out because my system is still tough as nails and my sound is incredible. I easily have 1000 gigs on it.

At any rate... Yesterday I purchased a Taylor 210CE-G with the Expression system in it. My signal chain, in order, is as follows:
[LIST]
  • Guitar
  • Boss RC20 Loop Station
  • Boss GE7 EQ (Usually off- used for volume for solos)
  • Digitech Vocalist 2
  • Mackie DFX6
  • Bose Channel 2 Preset 49

I gigged last night and plugged in and played without experimenting since I just purchased the guitar hours before. The end result was horrible. The sound was brittle and overpowering in the mids, I couldn't get decent volume out of the guitar. It was such a mess that I wanted to return the guitar.

Tonight I got rid of everything in my signal chain and plugged directly into channel 2 with preset 49 and it was the greatest guitar tone I've ever had! Now you know my problem. I'm assuming the lousy sound came from somewhere in that signal chain. I can easily get rid of the EQ- that was there because of a lack of a volume knob on my other acoustic. Other than that I need some help thinking this through.

    Thanks
    Darrell

I'd check the Digitech unit. If you have guitar signal being processed, it will alter it big time. I turn off all guitar effects and use the T1 effects only.

+1 on checking the Vocalist 2. You'll want to make sure that all of the guitar effects are off.
