I've been using the Compact for the last 2 weeks with my Rolands. All of the synth sounds came out crisp with nice bottom. Playing bass with the guitar and the lower 2 strings set for bass surprised me. I also impressed an organist last week and he received his from Bose last Thursday!
This is perfect for smaller jobs where I don't really need my Model II! Any one else have experience with this setup?

Hi Bassist1,

I'm running a VG-99 through my Compact for smaller gigs. The rest of the time I use my Model II.

I have to say that no matter what I do, whenever I play bass through the VG-99, I sound just like a guitarist holding a bass.

If I'm looking for bass guitar like tonse I usually run something like bass guitar on the bottom two strings and on the remaining four: original note plus a fifth up.

I'm really a bassist and it took me about 2 months to shape the tone of the VG-99 the get that good bass sound. It doesn't sound like my Alembic but to switch between bass and guitar it works. I do have a patch with the lower 2 strings set for the bass using the amp modeling for both instruments .

Hi, can you tell me how you have the GR55 set up with the tonematch mixer ( if you use one) - what settings do you use. Do you run the modeling gtr into a seperate channel? any advive help tips will be appreciated.

I bypass the T1 going straight through the base of my L1 M2 and the modeling works great with the GR-55. The VG-99 have a global setting to allow me to alter the tones for fine tuning.
