Been 30 days and 8 gigs. A few observations...
1. It really is best [as a performer] to be 6-8 feet away. I performed this morning in a cramped space [3 feet] and found my headset mic interacting with my guitar on the lower frequencies. Turning the sub a qtr turn helped a lot.

2. I continue to hear people raving about the clarity and fullness out in the room. I followed another solo acoustic guitar act that used the house system. My L1 pretty much blew them away. People came up to me to tell how moved they were by the purity, clarity and warmth. [this was a worship setting]

3. A 200 Hz boost give a very pleasing thump to the top of my Charis and two Goodall's. I can lay down nice fat percussion loops by tapping on my guitar top. Tapping with a knuckle sounds a lot like bongos.

4. I'm using a Shure beta 53 headset mic, and find the Neuman KSM 105 preset to have a much more natural vocal sound than the headset mic presets. Go figure.

5. Interesting discovery. I layered a fingerstyle passage...let it run...and walked over to the percussion set and added some cymbal and chimes. Came back, sat down, and finished the song. The quality of the L1's sound inspires me to do stuff like this!

6. I'm considering a second sub for the sake of those fat playing dynamics.

7. I play a traditional service on my classical on Monday nights. I'm very pleased by what I can get with the classical preset at lower volume.

That's it for now. best to all...greg

You'll never regret it!

Nice report. Glad to hear you are being inspired by the L1's sound. I feel that same way when we are play and the dynamics of playing off each other kick in. Some people would say, "we're in the groove." When we are, it's rewarding for me to hear the L1 sounds floating out into the audience.
