I did the Norton Buffalo show last Tuesday. Was really great. It is amazing how easy it is to do a show with seasoned professionals. They kept their stage volume to a balanced level. We set the monitors and never had to adjust them once the show started.

Robert L,
Monitors? Were you using L1 loudspeakers for this show?

Bose Pro, not PAS.
802II X 4 QSC 3402 @ 4ohms 550 watts per box
502BP X 2 QSC 3402 @ 8 ohms 700 watts per box
402I X 2 QSC 1602 @ 8 ohms 300 watts per box
Crowd was estimated at 1000. The 802,402,502BP system covered the area very well. It is a town square surrounded on all four sides with two story buildings. A nice natural reverb in the plaza.
Monitors were JBL EON10G2.

RobertL,

Then why post it here?

Hey, I've got an idea. RobertL, since you're a Bose 802 dealer I think you'd be a great person to work with the Pro Products Division to get a forum going that focuses on installed sound and 802/402 products.

There are a lot of folks who would like to have such a forum (they visit us here all the time) and I think you'd be a great person to get it off the ground and keep it vital. Is Jeff J. your Pro Field Sales guy? I'd be glad to help in the endeavour from the Bose side (as much as I can influence).

What do you think?

Steve,
That is a great idea! In supporting this product, it is inevitable that folks call on non-Personalized Amplification Products and if there were a more related forum for them to get support for these products I'm sure they would be much appreciative. Good stuff,

Why not post it here? Are you saying because it is not a PAS it shouldn't be posted?
I'd think you would be happy to hear about the outstanding performance of a Bose product.

I am not a Bose dealer. I have a small sound reinforcement company that uses Bose Professional Speakers.

I have nothing to do with installed sound. As you can see from the photos my system is portable. In case you aren't familiar with Bose Pro nomenclature, the BP in 502BP means Bass Portable. The 802II is a portable speaker and the 802-W series II was the speaker marketed for installations.

I would love to see a forum or a section of this forum dedicated to Bose Professional Products. I hope you were serious about it.
You know I'll be there if you make it happen.

Robert L,
From the looks of things this is a site dedicated to the Personalized Amplification Product only so while posting about the great performance of the 802's may be a nice topic it doesn't seem to be very relevant to the intention of the website. After all this message board originates from the Personalized Amplification page and not the Pro Products site. Just my 2 cents. good Luck!

Thanks for the input all around.

This message board community is a new thing for Bose. As technologies such as this are available, I believe that more and more groups within Bose will do things to promote owner community such as hosting boards dedicated to those respective products.

I'm sorry if we sound as if we're giving exclusive attention to the Personalized Amplification System products but that's the product and approach that we specialize in. We are very passionate about this product and all that it does for improving live performances beyond what conventional approaches may do. While other products, including Bose products, can sound incredible, do they provide a creative, artistic sonic environment where the musically expressed connection between audience and artist is maximized? This is why such a forum for such a product and concept has been developed. Excuse us if we're focused on this- we love what the product does for live music. We hope it shows here. It's a product-focused forum.

Nonetheless, your comments are taken very seriously and have been shared with folks from other divisions within the company. Many Bose owners of other products need a voice. Knowing that there are great owners such as Robert L out there is great! We need a place for those products to be discussed in detail. Thanks for alerting us of this need.

Here are some other unsanctioned places that you could visit in the meantime for home entertainment products:

RobertL,

I'm very serious. I'd love to help to get you and other 802 lovers a Bose community. I only wish I could join in the community but I'm 802 naive and really into the new approach.

The Pro Products team has approached me before about the Personalized Amplification System(tm) products forum and asked "how do you guys do it" so I know they're thinking about it.

I can put together some of the right folks and see if we can make this happen. Are you in?

I'll assume you're in and I'll send you a PM with my contact info and I'll get you an audience with the right folks a Pro.

Awesome! I went to track down the Director of that team yesterday and he's out of the office until Monday. I'll catch him soon.
