I'm just unpacking from last nights killer gig (L1/M1, T1, B1) and thought I'd take a shot of my "rtg" case. It's a converted generic guitar case I modified to carry everything I need except my L1 and a guitar. It's a little heavy for this cheap case, but I consider this one the prototype for a heavy duty version to come in the near future.

It holds my:

12" Powerbook in its case
T1
Guitar preamp
Modified tripod mic stand w/short boom
Microphone
Power strip
All power, usb and patch cables necessary for a solo show

Tomorrow I will take this case, my L1 Compact and a guitar to a 4th party for some impromptu jamming! So easy...goes anywhere...

Bonjour Paul,

Great idea to use the guitar case. And all in one box... including the microphone stand! What did you mean by "modified" when referring to the microphone stand?

I looked around a bit last year and went for two toolboxes from Stanley that I found at the local hardware store. I was setting up for a duo and had quite a few cables and mic stands.

The first box contains all the electronics: my Boss ME-20 guitar multi-effects pedal board, Boss RC-50 Loop Station, two Boss FS-5 footswitches, L.R. Baggs Para Acoustic D.I. that I use as an acoustic guitar pre-amp, T1 ToneMatch and a leather case with microphone, eggs, electronic tuner, guitar slides (metal and pyrex), capo, pen CD etc. ( Since taking the pictures, I added a TC Helicon Harmony G )

The second box is for the cables, water bottle, 6' power extension cord, power bar, Supra Clip-On Microphone Stand w/ Boom (for the second microphone) and tambourine.

This photo shows the toolboxes packed. The next will show the contents.

CONTINUED... Part 2
This photo shows the contents as they are unpacked. Note that I used an old yoga mat to line the first toolbox and separate the three layers of pedals / gear. The second toolbox also contains all the miscellaneous smaller cables, adapters, 2 kazoos, batteries, velcro cable ties, etc.

CONTINUED... Part 3
Here is what all the gear looks like when ready to go. There are the 2 pieces of the L1 tower, the L1 stand, 1 B1, the 2 tool/roadboxes, the 2 guitars, 2 microphone stands and one guitar stand. This is all that is needed to set up the sound for 2 people... and it all fits in the trunk of my 2006 Jetta!

I remember reading in this forum a person using a hockey bag with wheels to pack the L1 + B1 (1 or 2 I don't remember). I will investigate when the hockey season starts and the gear gets back in the stores.

Cheers,

JFd

Hey JFd... Well packed! Say, is your kazoo acoustic or electric? Big Grin

I modified my mic stand (Tama) by putting on the shorter tripod legs and short boom from a smaller Tama stand. This allows it to fit in the case and takes up less on stage.

All purists know and agree that a kazoo should NEVER be electrified my friend...

It never ceases to amaze me at how resourceful musicians are & how proud we are of our own systems. These are both great examples!

I went acoustic because I couldn't figure out how to program the electric version... Wink

Some great looking and neat packing and the only thing I could add is shoulder straps.

Even though I use a rock n roller cart everything except the Bose cases have shoulder straps because you can't always roll right up to your stage area.

I use two gym type bags so when I roll up to a set of steps I can throw them over my shoulder (duh). My guitar case is the same and I even have a strap that lets me connect both speaker halves together over my shoulder.

The point of all this is: whatever it takes to eliminate an extra trip to the van. Even more important at 2:30 in the morning! After all, I'm a solo act.

Thanks for sharing guys and I think I'll post one of mine rig rolling and a pic of me as a pack mule Smile

OK Wayne, guys... I chime in a bit late (as usual), but here is the electric kazoo!
Not a bad price either Smile
I am NOT a big friend of the kazoo, so this product just makes my skin crawl, but Wayne's
comment about kazoo purists was so funny that I just HAD to google it Smile
