I recently purchased two L1 double bass packages and pur them thru extensive sound checks. And I'm still blown away. I wanted to purchase these two years ago, but decided on the traditional PA set up. $3200 dollars later, most of my PA sits in the basement because it's not needed or too heavy. I felt like the band roadie with the equipment we did use. The L1s have changed all that for me, and, improved our sound immensely.
More after the gig . . .

kevinl143 I play in two bands. I recently purchase to L1 Model 1s, with double bass for both units. I have just one T1 unit and i'm wondering how to get vocals to the 2nd unit. If I plug directly into the 2nd T1, I don't get the reverb or other EQ features of the T1. Any suggestions?

Note: This layout is the same for both bands. The 2nd band only has 3 members, guitar/vocals, bass/vocals, and drummer (me) / backup vocals.

Just a quick note. The ONLY thing you don't get out of the Aux output is reverb. You do get Presets, EQ and other effects.

For some insight into that please see:

No Reverb on Aux.

Thanks for joining the Forum.

If you haven't had a chance to check it out, there is plenty for you in the L1® Wiki.

You can type keywords into the search box in my signature below. (try T1, or Model I for example).

Hi Kevin, I'm wondering why the drummer seems to be the sound lugging guy in so many cases.
I'd done that for years. I'm still doing it, but it's better now. Glad to have you join us!

Hi kevinl143!

Welcome to the Bose Message board and forums! It's great to have you along.

Wow, with two L1/MI's systems and a T1, you're going to have some fun with all that sound equipment in your band. I'd love to hear a before and after comparison of your band, old PA vs. Bose L1's sort-of-thing.

I'd encourage you to explore the L1 Wiki in detail about gain staging, signal routing from the T1 and the use of ToneMatch presets to take full advantage of your equipment configurations. Do all singers require (or want) reverb? If not, I'd surely give consideration to maybe trying to localize your vocals between both systems and going directly to the nearest one next to the singer. Maybe, lead vocal and bass to one system, lead guitar and you into the other. This could be accomplished via T1 routing, or just simply into the L1 base units.

Many configurations are possible with your gear. Try some variations and see what works for you. The end result will be your $3200 worth of PA equipment in the basement will soon be seeing Craigslist or eBay, I would be willing to bet!

If you get stuck on something, you'll find lots of good help here! Good luck .... John

Pete & John - Why don't you both move down here to Savannah. We can start a band and both of could share the work. Sounds good to me. Roy Razz

I notice you are a trio.
Here are some video cam clips of a few songs with my old trio, using three L1s.

We used a Roland Mini-cube for the guitar, lined-out into L1 Classic channel 2.
Bassist went direct into his Classic channel 2.
I ran a TrapKAT with a Roland TD-12 Drum Module into my Model II.
Each vocal mic into the player's system.

Wouldn't I love to to that!
Julie & I were just talking today about our Savannah trip.
Since there doesn't appear to be a Bose gathering where we can get together, we're still planning on coming down.

Hey Pete - I got a big wedding Saturday 3 L1's. I could use a conga player. How about it. I'll let you unload the truck.

I appreciate the response and ideas. I think my biggest challenge will be adding reverb to both units. I feel I need to purchase another T1 if I want to create the same sound from both units (same reverb effect). I may be able to route vocals to a processor and then to the 2nd unit. But I wanted to stay away from 'more equipment'. Any suggestions?

If we drummers can come up with a drum system like the L1, we will have it made. I have a TD-20, but that doesn't leave the house. Besides, I love the look of an acoustic drum set. The L1 has made the 'roadie' thing much easier.

I checked out the videos. I love the music. Same style of music that I am doing in The High Tops. You have to call me. I want to ask you about your drum. Very unique.

Sorry Kevin, I don't have any suggestions for you beyond adding additional equipment to get reverb on your second L1/MI system. Maybe someone else can reply with a method for accomplishing this without additional equipment.

I really enjoyed that. You guys are very good. Being an ex-bass player, I would have loved to play with an electronic drummer like yourself. I'm sure that helps with the overall volume and sound control!

Hi Mike, The TrapKAT definitely does help get the volume down and let the band sound more like a CD...smooth.

Kevin...I'll give you a jingle.
