Hey guys,

One of our friends posted a video on YouTube of my band Drive at Oktoberfest in La Veta last weekend. Check it out. Sound came out pretty good for a video camera, & the house was rockin'!

That was great Tom. I am always amazed at how good the audio comes out on video cameras when using the L1's. What guitar was that you were playing? My shoulder started to hurt when I saw the bass player and the double neck. Looked like a fun night. Roy

Roy,

That was a National Resolectric. I was using some of the effects in the T1 to get that funky sound.

The bass player is David Enke, & he had just finished building that double neck. It actually is very light - lighter than the National I was playing.

Tom,

That was fantastic! Great band and great sound.
Was that Don playing fiddle? He seems to be doing well. I'm so glad. Thanks for sharing this. You continue to amaze me with your talent and versatility.

Tom, seeing that it was La Veta, I was looking for David and Annie throughout the video clip of the crowd.
Didn't even recognize him in the band!
What a difference a hairstyle makes eh?

The music was great, awesome drummer.
I really like how you guys pulled the tempo back on the tune, and held it there.
It felt like slow motion.
I notice some of the video is in slow-mo, I wondered if the author slowed down the music or did you play it like that?

It's really true that recordings sound so, so much better thru L1s.

Thanks, guys. Yes, that was Don on fiddle. We really had a magical night. The crowd was there, & so were we.

We actually started it much slower with a country feel. The clip starts from after the pause towards the end. We picked it up from there & took off.
