Hi All,
I had a real fun gig a couple of weeks ago entertaining at a Sr. Adult conference in Pigeon Forge. I used the compact and lined out to the house system. The sound man said it sounded so good by itself that he didn't need to use the house.

Here's a link to a video. The lack of clarity at times was due to the mic in the camcorder, not the Bose. Everyone commented on how clear it was. I was using my trusty taylor, the L1 compact, and my friend Kathy was playing the ever present trashcan and porchboard.

Thanks Joel,

The young lady is a fine drummer with another group that was performing there. I drafted her to play several songs on one of my sets. The porchboard was there but not real prominent through the compact.

all the best,

Rick

Bonjour Rick,

I loved the key change near the end. Smooth sliding up of the capo!

I thought I was the only one who knew of David Wilcox. Very good rendition by the way. Did you know there are two other musical David Wilcoxes? One is a British conductor and the other a Canadian rocker. Check him out, he's very good.

Cheers,

JFd

Thanks guys,

JFd, DW is one of my very favorite singer/songwriters. I"m a choral conductor by profession, so yes I do know of Sir David Wilcox, and I found the Canadian Wilcox on you tube while looking for David number !. All three are fine musicians aren't they?

Tom, Senior Adults make up my main crowds these days for obvious reasons. I love to play and sing for them and the money ain't bad either. Next conference (hint, hint) we'll have to sit down and compare setlists. I know you do a lot of work with seniors. I could learn a lot from you.

My best,
Rick

Hi RWJ

Nice Sound! Nice and clear and clean. The young lady plays a nice laid back back beat with those brushes. As an ex percussionist myself I always appreciate a drummer who knows how to keep time and is tasteful. Well Done!

I love my Compact also!

Music is neither young or old....it just "is"

Thanks Mike,

I went to your site and really enjoyed the music and videos. Great singing and great playing from you and Kayte makes for some fine entertainment. Glad to see you using the L1 system. Aren't we lucky to have such a great tool. I've been a user since 2003.

Thanks AJ,

The folks seem to really enjoy the "trash can drummer". I think it really does add to the sound in an acoustic guitar set.

I always take the can and brushes with me in case a drummer is available. They are always very good sports about it and just join in the fun.
