This is a video done the first weekend in September and was recorded from my L1 MII + 2 B1
and picked up by a consumer Sony DV camera. I've got to add that the ball cap I'm wearing was supplied by our own "Roy", special delivery.(thanks bro!) Little hard to see the Bose, it's to my left in the dark. Thanks for listening (watching) "Dancin' On The Boulevard" Leo "It don't mean a thang, without that tropical twang" |

Sounds great Leo.
Thanks for posting that. Are the background vocals on the backing tracks or are you using a harmony device? (Can't remember if you have mentioned using one). |

Man that hat looks GREAT. You are not to bad also. Leo is filling in for me one night next week while I take a well deserved break for my house gig.

Thanks ST, the backing vocals are on the track. Oddly, if you listen to the track without me singing, the backing vocals sound like me : ) I'm considering a harmony device, but I'm adding more and more recorded vocals to my tracks, which makes the harmony device obsolete. leo "It don't mean a thang, without that tropical twang" |

Sounds good and looks like good fun. Do you make your own backing tracks Leo?

Superb version, Leo!
"Shaggin' on the Boulevard" always gives me a weird mental image with Austin Powers in it I know I live in Chucktown, but I am from Sweden, so "The shag" still has an alternative meaning for me. However...that does NOT take away from the awesome sounds you got going! |

Thank you Chris, yes that word is a dance on the east coast of the US and entirely something else in other parts of the world
Wayne, no set answer about my tracks. I make a lot of them and lots of others are re-worked, tweaked and added to by recording live instruments into them, like guitars, mandolin, steel drum etc., plus backing vocals. I keep just over a thousand songs loaded that I can call up in just about one second or so. Some are junk, but most are stage ready. I have a mixture of midi, mp3 and .wav files...or I work all acoustic. Just pluggin' away trying to make a living. I have to say these tracks really shine at high volume thru my Bose.. Thank you also for kind words, coming from real pros like you guys is really something! I just added one more from that same night...if you don't mind. "Copperhead Road" Thanks guys---leo "It don't mean a thang, without that tropical twang" |

Great job, Leo !
Curious, though... why did you switch from the headworn mic to the mic on the stand? |

Thank you Daniel (is that right
I've found that at the resorts I play, that the crowd doesn't pick up till later in the evening so I'll spend time on the stage for the first set because it generally a slow time and on select nights I'll set up a stand mic. The headset mic also makes it easier to sing and play my steel drum. I'm using the headworn mic preset and the ToneMatch and honestly it projects stronger than my Shure 58. I believe though, I switched back to the headset mic for the rest of the song because the crowd was starting to get into the song and I wanted to walk out among them....it's great fun! Thank you again for taking the time to watch my video.---^---leo-- "It don't mean a thang, without that tropical twang" |

Nice sound, great song, great version and very well done, thanks Leo.
Do you find that the hat affects the dispersion pattern from the L1? Sing like you mean it..........or else shut up and let someone else do it! |

Hi Eric...thats funny..
Since the mid ninties I've ALWAYS worn a ball cap. Even for wedding gigs. Once I decided to show up to a gig without a hat...someone went out to their car and got me one and "here, put this on so we reconize you" Thank you Eric, but the nice sound wasn't me..it was my Bose!, I just gave a little input. This making videos is fun, I plan to record some more tonight. leo "It don't mean a thang, without that tropical twang" |
