I am playing bass with a band in which I would be the only user of an L1 for bass and vocal monitoring. Everyone else is using conventional stage monitoring (wedges, seperate JBL cabs for the V-drums etc.) We all know how out of hand the stage volume can get when players get carried away
so... My question is; I'm the only believer in the group in the Bose system and I'm not trying to convert the others. I just want to know, if I need to, can the L1 with 4 B1's keep up with with a loud stage level? As a comparison, I have to push my Roland 700 watt bass rig fairly hard sometimes. ( I do use a T1 to add extra EQ and compression too). Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

Alembicmike, as a bass player using the same setup with T1, I have a hard time thinking that you wouldn't have enough juice for this stage setup. I'm in an all-Bose band, but even outside or on big stages with conventional systems, I've never had a problem monitoring myself. Everything through the L1 "cuts" so well!!

Hi Mike,

I've heard of mostly successes in situations like the one you describe. I think you'll do well.

Still, the proof of the pudding is in the tasting. I think you're just going to have to give it a go. I think you've got enough firepower.

Also, to me it's never the wrong time to discuss dynamics with a band and perhaps such a discussion will improve the exeperience overall.

Will you let us know how it goes?

Ken

My experiences with mixed conventional and L1/4-B1 is it works very well - 4-B1s have no problem keeping up with the typical 4x12 half stack. If you get three (or more) guitar players with half stacks it 'might' not cut it though... With the T1 for presets and tone control you should be set.

One thing to keep in mind is the variation of bass sound in every room. There is good info on the wiki about rooms, bass, and B1 placement. Be sure you group the 4 B1s for max output
