Just got one for fun. I'm not much of a bass player, but would love to have upright tones available to gig or record with.

Palatino Site

With the T1 and my L1 Classic + 2 B1s I ran through many presets in the Bass and Taylor banks. Some Ok, most were not, this bass needs some help in the EQ department. The Piezo pickup under the bridge sounds very hissy and midrangy with their onboard preamp.

The talkbass forum suggests several simple mods to the stock bass:
- put some rubber or shim under the pickup and also over the pickup under the bridge feet to reduced the harshness, and add warmth.
- swap out the metal ‘spike’ and replace it with an oak dowel.
- Try sticking foam or a sock between the tailpiece and the body, the tailpiece resonates pretty bad if not muted a little with something.
