Cliff,
Bob Taylor made a guitar out of Pallet planks just to prove that it isn't the quality of the wood that influences the tone of the guitar as much as the shape of it. It sounded incredible.
He even left the nails in it. It is on display at the Taylor factory.
When Taylor broke into the market and started taking market share from some of the traditional companies, there were speculations by the other companies that he was using some super wood, and that the quality of tone would start to lack as he ran out of supplies of great woods.
They haven't and he has been successful in penetrating the market with inovation and super tight tollerences for wood working. He also has an ability to hire great people and hear the slight differences that subtle shape changes make to the sound of a guitar.
I am glad that you guys worked with Taylor to do the presets. I look at the two companies as very similar. Both make a great product, have great service, and are ripped on by the traditionalist, while continuing to change the landscape in their respective industries.
Thanks for all the hard work and innovation.
