I've just recently purchased a L1Compact & I need some advise on how I can enhance the sound.
I most probably will buy a T1 in the future but for now I'm thinking a touch of reverb would go a long way into inspiring me to play my Taylor 816ce through the L1C. In the last couple of years I've tried a ton of amplifiers & have just become depressed. When I evenually heard about the L1Compact hope was kindled again. When I just plug straight into it & play, I'm much more pleased with sound than all those amps I tried, but I need something to take the rough edges off & smooth it out. Thus I was hoping someone might know of a resonable reverb unit {pedal} that works well with the L1Compact or perhaps you might understand the sound I'm after & have some other suggestion. I'm basically a fingerpicker. I use about 15 Altered tunings now {At one time it was over a hundred but I was losing my mind so I cut back}. Michael Hedges is probably my favorite player but I love Martin Simpson, Alex de Grassi & the list goes on. If I could get a tone close to Martin Simpsons playing I would be in heaven.
Anyway I hope to hear from someone soon.

Thanks

Hi Frets,

How big is the room in which you are listening to your L1® Compact?

I find that if I am using it in gig sized room I can usually hear the natural reverb in the room.

How about you?

Just a suggestion: I use the TC Helicon Harmony G vocal harmony pedal.
My friends who have the Compact, have them too. They plug mic and guitar into it, and then into the Compact's line input with a XLR/TRS cable. Even if you never use the harmony function, you get great reverb/delays for both vocals and guitar. These pedals are now down to $200...from $300 just a couple of months ago.
They also have a "detune" chorus effect which sounds great.

THE best solution is, of course a T1.

I have the Digitech Vocalist Live 4 which works the same as the Helicon. It has a lot of great settings as well as phantom power if needed.

My news is Blues!

VoiceLive 2 has those great reverbs and effects as well... so sweet on the guitar.

Thank you everyone for your feedback. I purchased a T1 & I'm very, very happy with the sound I'm now getting. In fact I'm excited. Feel like a kid in a candy store right now.

Thanks
