Hi
I've just purchased the Mdl 2 with 2 B1s.Awesome...However I have now been told that the Mdl1 is probably better for my needs as a Single male vocalist with hard hitting rock n roll show, I'm told it has more oomph!! is this the case....I was really impressed with the Model 2 though. I can get two more B1s with the money saved from getting the model1...
Decisions Decisions....
Any thoughts??????

Hi Cherokee Elvis,

I have both the Classic and the Model II.

From what I can tell, the Model II is just as loud as the Classic (predecessor with same output as the Model I).

I'll find you a quotation from Ken-at-Bose. Back in a bit.

I think there are two separate issues:

  • How LOUD can the Model II play vs. the Classic or the Model I?

  • If you set trim and channel volumes on the T1 similarly to the Classic, will you hear the same sound level?

As to Question 1, The Model II system plays as loud as the Classic or the Model I. Moreover, the Model II is no more or less susceptible to microphone feedback than the Classic of the Model I.

Question 2 is being answered thoroughly in other threads. My take is that the Model II and the Classic are two different products in the same family. There are some differences in how the gain staging is done. The best course in my opinion is on both units to set the trim levels and leave those alone, then use channel and master gain to bring the level to the desired amount. Again, there's no difference in the maximum sound levels.

Ken

Cheers for that, I will soon know how one compares with the other as the model 2 is going back and I'm trying the model 1 out. I'll let you know how they compare in the same venue.

Hi

in the thread referenced by ST "T1 & Classic: Volume Issue" you'll find someones impression, that the L1 model II combined with T1 ToneMatch modul has much more bass than the L1 Classic.
Thus I'm very interested in the results of your comparison and I'll stay tuned.
