GuitarCenter.com is no longer offering the L1 Model II for online purchase - is this a hint that a newer model is being released soon?

They still show the Model 1, but the only Model II they show is a restock. No Compacts either! Maybe a new/revised Compact model?

Love to speculate!

Hey Tom,

I've done a ton of speculating over the years about what Bose is up to.
I can't say that I've ever been right!
My guess is that GC doesn't care about L1s, and I can't blame them.
Once you buy an L1, you don't need anything else (except maybe more L1 peripherals).

GC was never up to the job of demonstrating the L1 either, they never bothered to learn about it.
I have mostly bought my gear directly from Bose.com, on the one-year no-interest plan.

Our local GC sells a ton of L1s (I see them around town a lot - and I see them leaving the store sometimes). They claim to be like number two in the country for moving these units. They have them displayed prominently not only in the PA room but also with a compact in the acoustic guitar room.

When I was mic shopping last year - they gave me free reign of a Model 2 with a T1 and let me try every mic in the store. To me that was invaluable service. Also at least two of the guys that work in the sound reinforcement dept are huge proponents and do a good job of talking the systems up - as near as I can tell.

OP - I suspect if you call the GC number that they will tell you the Model 2 is still available. When my friend was buying one from MF last year, they disappeared off that site for a few days as well for some unexplained reason.

That is great news Sundog!
Peoria, Il, and St Louis, Mo GCs both have the L1s buried and dusty in a corner of the PA room, looking quite defenseless against the monster speakers.

I'm happy that some of the Guitar Centers are doing their job.

And I go to the store to pick up a Model 1 with a Bass Module.

Not a single one in stock. At any of their Southern California Stores.
