I am a new owner of 2 L1 Model 1 with Bass bin, and want to do some DJ work using MP3 or computer source music. What is the configuration ? Can I go direct from the source using a 1/8 to 1/4 adapter and then a 1/4 splitter to get signal to both units. Or can I use a small mixer and unshielded cables. I had a problem with the latter in that I was missing the voice on all tracks. Did that have something to do with the type of cable I used?

Dear Performaudio,

With your setup, the best recommendation would be to take a 1/8th inch male plug out from your mp3 player/laptop, and have the other end of the cable be the dual red/white rca type plugs. Then go to a store like Radio Shack, and purchase two RCA to Mono 1/4" adapters. Then take one of the plugs and run it to the first L1 System, then take the other plug and run it to the 2nd L1 System. This will then give you stereo separation in you audio, and you will not miss out on any of the vocals. A company called Hosa makes the exact cable I described above (Radio Shack just doesn't sell it), and you can find it here: http://www.zzounds.com/item--HOSCMP15

Hope this helps, and have a great day!
