In order to perform with midi tracks, I want to connect my computer headphone "out" to two Bose L1 systems (one right and one left)using a "Y" connector from the computer's headphone jack, then two cables to the right and left L1 systems. My question is this: should the cables from the "Y" connector be speaker cables or instrument cables?

Hi Bo,

Welcome to the forum!

You would want to use instrument cables, since you are sending a line-level signal out of the headphone jack. A Y-adapter that goes from a single 1/8" stereo into two 1/4" mono connections should do the trick!

Thanks for your post,

Adam
