Hi - Firstly if this question has been answered a million times I would like to apologise for my failure in locating them. When I try to download the 'installer' (i think it's called) file I can't seem to get past the point where it says; 'no longer supported'. PLease could you advise how I go about installing new user presets from the site. Also is there a way to delete all the previous miss mash of scened I have created when I first acquired the T1 and just kept saving useless settings that I no longer require...... Many Thanks in advance

Hi charlie0chandon, Welcome to the forum! You can find instructions for updating your T1 at the links below. Update instructions for Windows users: http://toonz.ca/bose/wiki/imag...Instructions_1.0.pdf Update instructions for Mac users: http://toonz.ca/bose/wiki/imag...ructions_1.0_MAC.pdf File downloads for your T1 update: http://www.bose.com/controller...ematch_downloads.jsp To clear your scenes, scroll to bottom of the file downloads page. You will find the factory scenes that original came with your T1, if you’d like to restore these scenes. You will also find blank scenes that you can load to overwrite your current scenes with empty scenes. If you still need assistance, feel free to contact us by phone at the number below. Hi Bob Thankyou for the reply. I have been away so apologies for the delay in responding. The problem I am having is not allowing to get as far as "using there updater". Having downloaded the app (I'm using a mac), when I come to open it from the download folder all I am getting is a message saying: 'You can't open there application L1_Updater-5.app because PowerPC applications are no longer supported'. Am I being a muppet and overlooking something? Many Thanks Charlie

Dear Charlie0chandon, I believe I may know where the issue lies. Have you recently upgraded your system software to OSX Lion? If the answer is yes, then you will not be able to update the T1 using this new operating system. The complete redesign of Apple's operating system, has as you found out, made it impossible to use "PowerPC applications". We do not have a fix available at this time, and your only recourse would be to use a different computer, either a Mac with an older OS, or a PC. Sorry for confusion on this, but if I am correct, it won't work on your computer. Let us know though. Thank you! Eric-at-Bose

Eric - Thank you so much for the reply ! You are absolutely correct regarding a recent Mac OS upgrade and clearly that will be the issue. I say 'clearly'...... it is clear now you point it out.... I can't believe I didn't think to run it through a Windows PC - (note to self: 'you are a tosser'). I live by the motto; 'treat everyone like an idiot and no-one will ever disappoint you' - thankfully you do the same.. CHEERS Charlie

Eric & Bob Thank you both for your help, having followed your advice, I am now an expert at transferring files between the laptop (WINDOWS :-) ) and my T1. Well at least I will be once I have figured out how to add one of the 'manufacturer' pre-sets without wiping out all the 'default tone-match pre-sets’... I think I am correct to add my three most preferred/most used settings into folders A,B,C? (have done this by, for example: A=Audix Mic's / B= Taylor Guitars / C= Handheld Mic's) although I'd be grateful if you could offer some guidance for transferring the additional manufacturer settings across without overwriting the standard Bose Defaults. (I used to be able to follow manuals (honestly)... Maybe the wife is correct after all and I do need some 'ADHD' medication !?!) Sorry to bombard you with questions but us 'excitable, impatient',<<..>> newbies are like <<..>> once we have cracked open our new BOSE boxes... Ref the Taylor pre-sets... I have been reading various user posts about the dreaded hum some are experiencing and unfortunately I am getting the same. This is ONLY happening on Acoustic Guitars, everything else is quiet as a mouse, Ipad's/pods, PC's. Keyboards, Electric Fender Strat... Nothing!? But when I plug in my acoustic it really is bordering on unusable - I have two Taylors (316CE & 616CE) both fitted with the expression system - they produce the same hum when plugged and strangely enough the interference is worse than ever if the Taylor Pre-set is added on the T1. I presume there is some kind of compression setting added that is picking it up or maybe some pretty drastic eq around 9500HZ. Some of the other pre-sets help to reduce the hiss/hum (I appreciate that’s two sounds but I’m starting to think actually there may be two - a hiss and a hum) as does a big narrow (ish) cut between 9k and 10k Hz on the para EQ. Unfortunately the sort of attenuation required to push it out of the way results in a pretty lifeless output. I think it's also worth pointing out its certainly not as bad when running out totally DRY without any effects added but that's not to say the problem isn't still there, it's simply not being magnified by the effect processing. I ma not using any additional hardware or filters and I have tried all manner of alternative cables, bypassed the T1 and gone straight into the analogue, changed to a different circuit, even changed to a different venue but it's still there. The only two things that have not been substituted are Mr Taylor and Mr Bose. I think it reasonable to assume the pickups on both guitars are not at fault although I have borrowed a Takamine that I will try this evening just to be sure. Following a suggestion that was made in an earlier post I have acquired a DI box that I will try tonight also. Having trawled the earlier posts on the subject I failed to find any conclusive solutions but If you have any other suggestions I would be very grateful. (Incidentally - Do the various effect plugins utilise EQ only or may they use specific combinations of the other effects the T1 has to offer (for example delay, limiter etc.)? Bloody <<..>>, She's right I can't help but diverse.... I think I ought to go and get checked out and having opened enough cans of worms I think you know what I’m, very badly trying to explain – I only meant to say, 'Thank You' !! :-). So thank you guys and may I just add; it is a wonderful thing to have access to this forum and to draw on the enormous experience the active community is able, not to mention ‘willing’ to share. It’s a credit and without doubt the most unpretentious and friendly forum I have come across - bar none. Most ‘Technical’ forums seem to be frequented by people who simply want to demonstrate their level of experience by self gratification or merely taking the <<..>> out of the newcomers. I appreciate we ask basic, stupid questions – that’s how we learn…… but not once have I witnessed a; ‘down the nose’ response from any of the senior participants here and that makes a truly refreshing change - Thank you for having me !! Hi charlie0chandon, There are four preset banks available on the T1. We suggest leaving the default set of presets stored to the first bank labeled “T1 ToneMatch Presets." You can overwrite this with a different set of presets but doing so will overwrite and remove the default presets. So, we recommend using banks A, B, and C to load your choice of three additional sets of presets. As for the noise you’re experiencing with the acoustic guitars, try the Takamine to see if you get the same result. If the issue is only present when using the two Taylors, those guitars would seem to be the root of the issue. If so, take a look at Ken’s responses in the following thread for additional info: http://bose.infopop.cc/eve/for...6055944/m/5051012205 I hope that helps, Bob Bose L1 Support ---------------------- 1-877-335-2673 (Monday through Friday, 8:30AM to 9:00PM ET; Saturday, 9:00AM to 5:00PM ET)
