I am in the process of upgrading components in my home theater and I need help choosing the best sounding speakers and headphones Bose has to offer. Right now, the room is 10x13 feet and acoustically treated. This room is for high fidelity music listening so it has no furniture or seating requirements. This is a serious, no compromises 2.1 audiophile setup.

So what are the best sounding home speakers Bose makes? I know the 901 is the flagship model but the technology is old and I dont know if my room is big enough for them. Ive heard great things about older models like the Bose 10.2 floor standers and the Bose 4001. Some people say these blow away the 901's.

Also, I need a pair of Bose headphones for the same purpose, critical music listening. I called Bose for recommendations on the best sounding headphones. The person said all of them sound the same except some are noise canceling or more portable. This is obviously not true, one of them must be audibly superior to the rest, even if its by a smidgen. Which Bose headphone has the best sound if isolation and portability is not an issue?

Ive been having trouble finding this information on the internet. Nobody seems to have Bose speakers in a serious controlled setup.

So what Bose speakers and headphones should I choose for my audiophile needs? What about powering the speakers/headphones? Should I use acoustic treatments or will it screw up the direct/reflected sound? The one and only concern is to have the best sound Bose has to offer.

Dear Ian Ffield,

I apologize, but this forum is not intended for Bose home theater discussions. It is for the L1 system, a live music product for musicians and DJ's. Feel free to call into Bose's End Consumer Tech Support line at 800-367-4008, or also visit http://owners.bose.com/ for online support.

Thank you!
