Hi,
I have a Bose L1 model 2 with tonematch and previously owned and used a L1 model 1. I'm after help and your suggestions for my set up:- Female vocals,my vocal (obviously Ch1 and 2) but when connecting my keyboard a NORD Stage 88 piano and I use backing tracks in wav format on an ipod.I'm not happy with my sound and would like some suggestions and advice.Style of music jazz, blues and contemporary. I've been running the ipod into ch 4,5 on the tonematch and the Nord into Ch3 yet I'm not happy with the sound in mono on piano. Any suggestions from similar users and setups would be most appreciated. Thanks Mark in Oz |

Dear Musomarc,
I am having a little trouble understanding what issues you are having. Can you be more descriptive? Do you not like the fact that your keys are not in stereo? Are the vocals not sounding good? Anything additional information would help me help you! -Eric-at-Bose |

Hi Eric,
Sorry for the lack of specific detail. The issue really I suppose is I'd like to use 2 stereo outputs from (ipod and Nord Stage using outputs 1and 2 and only one stereo input on the tonematch) How would you recommend ipod conection? From 1/4" headphone out to ch 4,5 or summed into Ch3? My main issue is the tone of the piano sound,I don't think the Nord Stage 88 has a mono piano sample and the sound from fom output on the Nord(Output1) to Ch 3 input on Tonematch on Preset General Keys is thin and lacking. If I connect the Nord Output1 and 2 into ch 4,5 on the Tonematch to get a stereo summing effect, how would you reccommend conecting the ipod? Have you got any set up tips from fellow nord Stage keyboardists in L1 Model 2 with Tonematch? If I use another small sub-mixer ( e.g Alesis Multimix USB with ipod usb dock) into the Tonematch to solve the issue how would you recommend I configure it? Thanks for your help. Regards ark |

Musomarc,
In regards to other Nord users, I was able to go to the main L1 Forum page, and in the upper right hand corner there is a search field. Simply type in the word "nord", and you will find any posts where people mention that they are using Nords. Now, with the L1 system being a mono system, and the T1 only having one way to sum a stereo signal to mono, and you having two stereo signals, it definitely provides a dilemma. Without both left and right effects from a synth, you can get very poor sound. However, I believe that you actually put forth the best solution, by using a sub mixer first, plugging the Ipod into that mixer, and taking the output to the T1 Tonematch, into channel 3, and leaving channel 4/5 open for your Nord. If you already have the Alesis Multimix, I would love for you to try this setup and see what results you get. -Eric-at-Bose |
