I'm running a sub-mixer into the l1 model 1 (2 subs) with 4 vocals, electronic drums, bass (via tech 21 para driver), keyboard, and guitar (via POD X3 Live)...........whenever a vocalist digs in hard on the mic, ALL the instruments sag very noticeably.............I'm going to attempt to correct the problem by compressing the vocals, but I'm surprised that the unit reacts this way. Any thoughts?

Hi Djewnn,

Welcome to the forum!

The L1 system does have an auto protection circuit built in that will limit the sound in order to prevent any possible damage to the amplifier circuit.

There may be some gain-staging (i.e. trim and volume adjustments) that you can do in addition to using some compression to optimize the signal. You might also find that, depending on the size of your band, how loud you like to perform, and the size of your audience, that you may be better served using a double-L1 setup.

As far as changing any settings goes, the best way is to A-B it with a particular effect, so you can determine if it is helping.

Best of luck, and thanks for your post!
