SKB Road Cases for L1 model II & T-1

I took delivery of my new SKB cases for my L1 Mod II. I like the fact that the T-1 has something sturdy to ride in now. My rig takes up more room in my car now but, the trade-off is what's inside is better protected and hopefully will last longer as a result. Also, I do lot's of restaurant work and there is not alot of room after i set up to store these SKB cases so, I've just been returning themto the car during my performance and then bringing them back in to break down and load up. It seems my load in / out has become more complicated but once again, I'm better protected against damage....its called "trade-off"...LOL

Best Regards,
Joe

Those cases are nice. But the ones Bose gives you with the purchase package are also excellent.
It might be possible to improve the strength of the tower bags a little. But to me anyway IMO this might land in the overkill column.

One thing you could do is build box carts with large castors to hold the stuff and roll into the gig with. Then put the bags or SKB cases into the cart(s). If you can't stash the carts somewhere, roll them back to the van.

I use 2 carts myself. I put my logos and etc on them so people know who I am...hey free advertizing.

Also, having your stuff in a cart box gives added protection to the components too.

My 2 carts are 5'Lx2'Wx16"H w/6" castors. Pine sides and a plywood floor. They fit well into my Dodge Caravan with no back seats with room to spare.

This reduces how many times I have to go back and forth to my van...which I think is handy.

But everyone may have a different situation. This is just how I load and tear down.

I've got both SKB cases also ... it may be overkill but my Bose is in pristine condition.

Years ago, Tom Munch suggested Gun Cases ... I think these are better.

Since We're on the subject of cases for the Bose Line Array systems,...
I use two Compacts,...I recently purchased this case from Walmart to carry my two Compacts around:

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Styl...heeled-Tote/17481699

I can place the compacts inside lying on their backs, with the bottoms facing each other, and get both pole bags, one along the back on top, and the other along the front on top, with no problem...

I also have plenty of room for cables, and a 25 foot extention cord,...

I simply roll the whole case into the place where I am playing, unload, pull the legs out on the case, and use the top for my work space while I am playing...

Works just great!,...and I always have everything I need for the gig...

Hi Cursebuster,

Neat idea for that Styleworks PackHorse 50-Gallon Wheeled Tote.

I'm guessing you drive a truck or a van?

It has to weigh close to 70 pounds fully loaded. (ouch). It looks super convenient, but my challenge would be getting it in and out of a vehicle.

Hey ST,

Well, I don't drive since I'm a blind individual,...

But I do fly airplaines:

OK,...My girl friend/manager drives a ford pickup...

I have no problem with the extra weight, since I like to , and need the exercise...

The convenience is well worth it for me...

Like Jeff, I also purchased both SKB cases. I am planning on using my Bose for a long time and the protection they give was well worth the money for me.
