Hi Mike,

The Noise Gate will not make any difference to the sound... What it does is shut down an input until the sound level of the input exceeds a certain level.

I use the noise gate on my vocal microphone so that it basically mutes the input unless I'm actually singing into the microphone.

How were you using yours? On a microphone?

When the settings are right, you won't notice it, but it will have a tendency to reduce amplifying stage noise when you are not singing, and it can also help reduce feedback when you are not in front of the microphone.

You can read more about this idea here: T1® Noise Gate Tips for Feedback

PS - Please don't type in ALL CAPITALS. That usually means that you are YELLING. If you don't want to type in upper and lower case, then just type in lower case.

Hi Mike,

I hope I didn't offend in my notes about the noise gate. If I did, I'm sorry. It certainly wasn't my intention.

As for your Frosties Packet microphone: Did you readjust the T1® Channel trim settings when you changed microphones? Or maybe the inexpensive microphone had a different frequency response. I hunted around but could not find any detail about the frequency response for the TG-X60.
