Are the bass sounds you produce "pure" (non-complex, flute- or pipe-organ-like) tones? If not, I wouldn't worry about it.
With a 16' pedal tone from an electronic pipe organ, the B1's from the larger L1's really drop off the last 5 notes of the pedal (E down to C); the Compact may drop most of that lowest octave (although I haven't actually tried it on that same organ yet). However, for most bass instruments, including particularly keyboards and any "complex" sound such as sax or bassoon, you probably won't notice anything missing ... because you'll hear the harmonics of that complex sound and the listeners' ears will "fill in" the fundamental tone. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the lowest piano keys sound through the Compact (I can hear some differences between the Compact and the larger L1's with B1's, but it most apparent in an "A/B" comparison; the Compact's sound is generally rather satisfying -- as long as the room doesn't "suck up" the bass as well.)

Yes. However, for mono input sources to the mixer (e.g.: microphones), I'd recommend you pan those mono (mic) inputs hard to one side or the other (alternating, if you have more than one mic).
