After months of reading posts (positive and negative) from you working musicians and DJ's, I decided to actually listen to a L1 Compact. I bought my first Classic w/2 B1's Jan 1st 2005 ( I now have 3 sets), and had a good idea of what I was hoping the Compact would sound like. So Saturday, I headed off to a Guitar Center for a listen. I asked the sales rep to put on a bass heavy dance cd, and after about 15 seconds had made up my mind to go with it. Then, the manager showed up and told me they had a promotional thing which gave a free B1 to any L1 purchase (I know they are not made for use with the compact, but I do have an A1, so they will get used at some point in time). What could I do....I bought 2. If they work out for me I can hopefully sell one of my rarely used Classic combo's, bought as an emergency spare.
I also bought 2-20 ft Mogami TRS cables. Funny, I didn't blink at the $2,000.00+ Bose purchase, but almost balked at the $100.00+ for 2 cables. Wierd, huh? By the way, the B1 carton actually had a "Promotional" sticker on it, so does Guitar Center do things like this regularly???. Keep your eyes open. I sure didn't know about it going in. I used the Compact last night (Sunday) for the first time and will post a gig report after I do a little work at the occupation that I don't tend to spend money on...my day gig. As an aside, if Bose would include a "distortion" category in the T1, I would gladly buy a second one just for my guitar effects. Except for that one issue, it has everything I need or would use. |
