It's Taylor's Expression System. Check it out here. It actually sounds even better than what you hear in the video, the video camera mic picks up little bottom end.

I don't recall the T1 preset I'm using, I believe it's Taylor dreadnaught strumming, but I've tried a few over time. I'll check it out and get back here.

If you check out the song clips on my website, you'll get a little better idea of the sound - they were recorded right off of the T1 output, so it's closer to what the Bose puts out.

The Taylor ES always sounds perfect. (Unless you need to change the battery.)

Hey Tres!
When I saw the picture I was going to post and ask if that was taken at Rapscallions. Then I watched the video and answered my own question.

Video sounds great!

Well, it's great if you're outdoors on the patio...lake, cypress trees, birds...very cool.

But if you play inside at the bar, it's the usual - they move a small table out of the way and your band plays on a postage stamp (about 4' deep by 8' wide, and the path around the bar is right in front of you). Oh, well...good food, though.

Hi Tres,
I played my first show there in March of 2007 and I did one this past February and another this past March.

I don't get down that way as often as I'd like but they are always nice enough to fit me in.

Take good care,
Matt

Matt,

If you don't mind my asking here, what's the name of your band? or do you play solo?

Hey Matt,

I've been gone, too, as well as a good portion of this forum, at the conference in North Carolina.

Nice website! And I recognize your pic from a poster I saw at the restaurant, just didn't put two and two together.

You seem to play Wisconsin a lot, were you from there? I used to live in Manitowoc (otherwise known as the dark side of the moon LOL ).

Let me know when you play here again, I'd like to meet you.

Tres,
I am from Wisconsin and I try to get back there as often as possible to play shows and to see friends and family.

I have been to Manitowoc to catch the SS Badger over to Michigan and back although it seems like I'm always doing that trip either early in the morning or late at night. I don't know that I've ever seen Manitowoc in the daylight.

I hope to be back at Raps this coming winter, maybe February or so. I'll let you know.

Talk with you soon.

Matt

Tres,

Finally bit the bullet. I got the Composite Acoustic 7M-CE. It is beautiful to look at and to play, and sounds huge. It has plenty of low end, and the higher strings chime out nicely.

It has the Fishman Ellipse VT in it for sound, and I thought that I might not like it since I have been playing a Taylor with ES for about 4 years.

I think it sounds great through the L1.

I have the classic with the Taylor presets loaded in, and had my Son go to the power stand and adjust the presets while I played. I settled on preset 49 which is the 810 with the ES setting from the 2.0 presets.

I haven't tried any of the higher number presets but will likely do that tomorrow.

I played for about 40 minutes tonight and was very satisfied with the sound.

Since I still haven't got my Taylor back from getting the bridge repaired, I will get immersion therapy this weekend as I have 3 gigs.

I am really looking forward to not having to worry about moisture or temp for my guitar.

Talk soon.

Gordy,

Cool! Don't know much about the CA guitars, though I've heard about them on another forum. Seems like a good idea for the beach and such.

Post some pics!
