Hello all, I hope I have posted this in the right forum. My society uses the L1 for our magic shows, and although we use a mixer and have 3 mics and a pc for background music. in effect the acts are solo artists,. We play to audiences from 50 to 250 people. The mixer is used so we can swap mics quickly when we change acts, and also to adapt to the different voice levels. The mics are radio type lapel and a stick. Ok now my question is where should the L1 be positioned? is behind the performers ok? or in front off to one side? We are using the stereo phono inputs on channel 2 for all audio. Any help advise would be happly accepted. Thanks GrinwolfThis message has been edited. Last edited by: Grinwolf,

Hi Grinwolf, Thank you for joining the Forum. What Model L1® do you have? --∈∞ΘΞ Please click the picture for more details ΞΘ∞∋-- It sounds like you have a Compact since you mentioned using "stereo phono inputs on channel 2 for audio". Thank you for telling us so clearly how you are using the mixer.
How are the lapel mics doing for you? I would expect the stick type (over the ear with the microphone by the mouth) to be working better. Is that so? As for where to position the L1®, I like to put them behind the performers. This sounds really natural for the audience. Much more so than some disembodied voice emanating from someplace off stage. Unfortunately this can be an issue with lapel microphones because these are usually omnidirectional and have very low gain-before-feedback. If the performers are careful to keep their backs to the L1®, this might work out. But if you can use headworn microphones with uni-directional (hyper cardioid or cardioid polar patterns), this will work much better. I'm thinking of something like this: --∈∞ΘΞ Please click the picture for more details ΞΘ∞∋-- OR --∈∞ΘΞ Please click the picture for more details ΞΘ∞∋-- Have you done any shows with your L1® yet?
