I'm wondering if I can get some input on the best ways to record my backing tracks to use with my L1M2 w/T1. I have found that some of my midi files sound really good when played through my Yamaha PSR 1000, then into my Bose. I think that I'd like to convert them to mp3 format to use with my ipod or similar device. I have an excellent mini disc recorder/player but I think I'd prefer not having to drag so much gear around with me. How do I go about getting what I'm hearing "live" recorded and then converted.
Hello Tonehead, What I have been using for three years now is a software called AML Easy Audio Record. It will record my Midi player Lineout into my computer Linein as an MP3 or WAV file format. It is a very easy program to use.Sometimes I will Linein direct to my Jamman Looper and make a WAV file that way.I am sure others will chime in with other recommendations. - J.D.
Hi J.D. I downloaded a trail version of the AML easy audio record and I'm having a bit of difficulty getting the volume right. I'm also getting distortion and computer generated noise. I've spent a good bit of time experimenting and I've found that a little loss in the quality of sound seems to be apparent, especially on the low end. Is the full version the same as the trial version in function and do you have a method that seems to work best when using this program. Thanks so much for your time and for the info. Mark
Hey Tonehead, I have my AML (Sound devices set to (microphone) because my sound card doesn't have a built in mixer.I turn the volume on my computer down to about 1/3 for recording, set the mp3 bitrate at 224.My recordings come out great. You may have to set your Windows recording mixer to line-in instead of microphone in.I never had the trial version,so I don't know if there is a difference between the two versions. You may check your audio cable ,your output level, and clean the line jack on your computer also.I use this same program on my laptop and get excellent recordings as well.I remember having problems in the beginning but I finally got the recordings sounding really good after a while. This is all I have used for the last three years now.You may contact AML support and get their suggestions.I have a friend who is the one that got me to buy and use this program. He too, gets excellent recordings. - J.D.
