I LOVE my two L-1 Compacts! I run vocals and keys in normal situations;but, when I add my synth too, I have to use a mixer/per-amp (Beheringer) to accommodate the three inputs. It tends to distort the L-1 Compact. Any ideas?

BTW: I use the two L-1s for outdoor gigs and run them in series. When doing a larger stage show, I give the sound engineer the quarter inch output for his PA...and everybody's happy.

BigJim, maybe you could get your hands on a TI tyo see how that works for you. I own both an LIMI and Compact and find they do give me a different sound, however, with my TI I have been able to get that crisp clean Bose sound we all look for. As a matter of fact sometimes the sound is a little too clean and I need to work the TI to smooth out the edges.

Have you tried plugging the synth directly into the Compact to see if it still distorts? If so, there might be something about the signal the synth is putting out that the Compact just can't handle.

If it doesn't distort when plugged directly in, I wonder if you don't have some issues with setting the gain for the various stages of your signal chain. Adding an outboard mixer shouldn't add significant distortion as long as things are set up correctly.
