Hello all,
I quick question about using the Digitech vocalist 4 w/ a L1 model 1. I have tried the connection in this forum but found the backups to be a bit muddy. I have run the EV357 mic into channel one back out to the vocalist then out of the vocalist into channel 4. Any ideas why it would be darker in sound than just going from the mic to the vocalist then out to channel one?? Thanks in advance for any help |

Hello Captn,
The main reason is probably because channels 3 and 4 have no ch eq available as in scenerio 1,but when you run your mic directly into the VL4,as in your second scenerio, you are probably using a preset, which gives your lead/harmony vocals eq.This is with the assumption that you are using an R1 remote with your L1 Model 1 second scenerio. You may find that you like the mic direct in rather than a flat sound into channel 4.If you had a T1 ,you could preamp out with a post signal giving you the preset into ch4. As for myself,I want my main vocal to be the best it can be and the harmony is just secondary. You could always add an eq in the signal chain into ch4 scenerio 1.Hope this helps - J.D. |

I use a digitech vocalist live 2 with my bose l1 model b1 with a T1 system. it sounds amazing through channel 1. I use the T1's compression, and delay mixed with the onbard VL2 stuff. its our "other" secret weapon in our little 3 piece.

For the vocalist to work properly, it must have a clear signal input. You need to run the mic directly into the Vocalist. Then, run 2 XLR lines into your PA from the Vocalists outputs.
There may be other ways to hook it up, but Digitech does not recommend them. |
