Hi there,

I'm considering buying the full bose system for use at gigs with myself and another singer both playing guitars. I'm wondering if the T1 has enough inputs for that instrumentation. Does it have 4 mono channels or 3 mono and one stereo? What would be the best options for us?

Thanks

Hi will gillard,

Thank you for joining the forum.

The T1® has four inputs. Three are suitable for microphones or line level inputs (microphone or guitar for example). The fourth input has two input jacks that can be used for a line level input like a keyboard, backing tracks, or more relevant here, a guitar with an active preamp system.

What kinds of microphones and guitars are you using. Lots of detail (make/model pickup systems in the guitars) would really help here.

Please tell us more about your music:

  • What kind(s) of music you play?
  • Where you do it (size, type of venue)?
  • Who is there (audience) - how many, what are they doing while you are performing?
  • Do you have a web site?
  • If no web site, could you post a picture of your duo?

Thank you.

It doesn't sound like it will work for what I'm intending. 2 acoustic guitars would both require their own mono xlr/line input and both vocals would obviously need their own xlr inputs.

One of the guitars does have a pre amp but how would you plug that into a stereo channel?

Hi will,

Actually it does sound like you should be fine.

T1® Channels
1: Vocal Microphone
2: Guitar (no preamp required)
3: Vocal Microphone
4/5: Guitar (using a preamp) This is technically - one channel with two inputs. You can use one side as a mono input.

Bonjour Will,

I have the same musical configuration with Iron Sky , i.e. 2 guitarists / singers.

We are currently set up exactly like ST suggested (happy 5th anniversary ST!) and the results are excellent. You can see our original set up in this other post to the forum: Iron Sky sketch. I actually used the last input for a third guitar (12-string).

Please excuse the mess I made with the colored tags: I hadn't looked at the legend closely before I dove into the sketch.

I hope this helps. Please note that the recordings on the MySpaceMusic site are all done live through the T1... Great sound if I say so myself.

Bonne chance!
