Forming a new trio and we just picked up the bose system LI with tine match and Sub
Will have keys, Roland V-Drums and Acoustic/Electric Guitar and vocals Any Suggestions on proper set up. The guitar player is playing a Devoe guitar and we are looking for the best mic to use with the Bose system. We play world/Jazz type music. Will be running a Macbook pro for all keysounds using Logic Mainstage with a collection of plugins from Spectrasonics and Native Instruments with a keyboard controller for bass sounds, pads and electric piano sounds The drum sounds are mostly percussion sounds not 4 on the floor rock drums. let us know we are in the process of tweaking the system out during rehearsals before our 2009 live season. |

Hi, audiopro69! Welcome to your first post on this Bose L1 forum.
My first comment is that you will want to get a 2nd B1 before you do any relatively large venues; you *will* be able to tell when the single B1 "runs out of gas" -- particularly with your instrumentation. Mics are a lot like voices ... they have their own personality. There are a number of topics and postings comparing different mics on this forum, but -- to me -- it seems to come down to trying a few and seeing which give "the sound" you like. The only major guideline for live music is to NOT use an omni-directional mic ... for guitar or voices. The important thing is that the ToneMatch (T1) with an L1 will allow you to get the best sound possible from any mic. Taking the time to rehearse, adjust, and *listen* is the key. The more your rehearsal space is like typical performance spaces -- particularly in size -- the better you'll be able to quickly get your new System "dialed-in". |
