ST,
Can you please help me figure out which channels I should use with a particular instru. or mic? http://toonz.ca/sketcher/showB...spx?SketchID=4586]My Stage Layout[/url] in The Sketcher We have on L1 model1 system with one tonematch. (4 musicians) 2 guitars with pickups 1 stand up bass with pick up 1 mandolin miked. 3 vocal mics. I'd like to plug in my apple computer too if possible. Are there enough channels for all of this? Thanks, Renna |

Hi Renna,
Thanks for using The Sketcher! -- click image to make changes to the live version -- Legend: Orange numbers are Systems and Inputs using those Systems. Green numbers are for general notes about the Sketch and connections to non-Bose gear.Quoting Renna from The Sketcher

Hi Renna,
Sorry, it took me longer to get back here that I anticipated. You do appear to have enough connections. See my notes below the legend. -- click image to make changes to the live version -- Legend: L1® Model I/Classic T1 ToneMatch® audio engine Orange numbers are Systems and Inputs using those Systems. Blue ringed numbers are Channel connections to/from the Classic and Model I Systems. Blue filled numbers are Channel connections to/from the T1 ToneMatch™ audio engine. Green numbers are for general notes about the Sketch and connections to non-Bose gear.T1® Connections We are putting our first priority on the vocal microphones running them into T1® Channels 1,2,3. Vocal Microphone Vocal Microphone Vocal Microphone The acoustic Guitar marked gets the last T1® channel. Note - this only work well with a pickup that has preamp built-in (if it uses a battery you are probably fine). We will have to connect the computer to the T1® using the USB port. This will not take up any of the other channels. Power Stand Connections Mandolin microphone Guitar with pickup Bass - this will require a pickup that has preamp built-in (if it uses a battery you are probably fine). T1® How does this look to you Renna? This message has been edited. Last edited by: ST, |

Thank you for your help. I figured out how to hook up the computer. Do you know how to use garageband to record our sets? Do I need some other audio program since I'm not using the internal mic. that comes with the computer?
I'm also not sure about the pre-amp for the guitar. I know the pickups are being made by David Enke at "Pick up The World". His newest model. Do they usually have pre amps in them? Thanks for your help! Renna |

Hi Renna,
David's pickups can be active or passive. The difference is whether or not there is a preamp in the signal chain. That preamp can be in your guitar or in an external device. If you have to use a battery to power your pickup or you have a box that takes batteries or an AC adapter to function, then the pickup is more than likely active. If it is does not require power then there probably isn't a preamp in the signal chain. I'm sure a all to David would clear up any mysteries here. More about recording in another post. Thinking... |
