Which of the mic settings would best suit the Audio Technica microphone? It is not a condenser. Been using Seinhauser setting for now.

Hi Rustleo,

What model Audio Technica microphone? ***

Have a link to yours online?

Are you using this as a vocal microphone?

You are using this with a Model II and T1® correct?

***I'm seeing four Audio Technica Artist Series Dynamic Microphones

Hi rustleo,

If you are using this Audio-Technica AE4100 for vocals then start with

Category: Vocal Mics
Preset: Handheld Mics

That would be a good place to start, and it may well be the best for you.

If you have some time, run through all of the Presets in the Vocal Mics category.

Auditioning the Presets - DO THIS
- test at full performance volume
- in a performance sized space
- play your guitar at the same time so that you are hearing your voice in context/contrast to your typical accompaniment

DON'T use Effects or EQ until you have found the Preset you like best.

Then go ahead and fine tune.

Will do, If you had to pick one microphone and use it with the TI what would it be? I know this may put you on the spot and perhaps you are not allowed to voice your opinion due to bias, but if you could then perhaps list a few? I have a soft singing style and a slightly high voice see
www.soundclick.com/RussellO if needed thanks for your help it is really valuable to me.

Hey Russel,

Thanks for the link to your site. It was good to put a face and a voice to the handle.

About Microphones

We're all entitled to opinions around here.

My personal favourite microphone is the one I use live.
Neumann KMS 105

and here is how I came to that conclusion.

Microphone Review

BUT

Microphone choices are at least as personal as those we make about Guitars.

A regular around here Oldghm did a wonderful demonstration at a user conference a couple of years ago. He lined up several microphones on the stage, each running into an L1® with a ToneMatch® Preset. They all sounded great.

In a pinch I could have chosen any one of them for doing a show.

If you spend some time reading posts around here you will find lots of opinions about lots of microphones from lots of L1® owners.

Hi rustleo,

Are you asking about this?

Shure Beta 56A Instrument Microphone

quote:
Originally on the Shure web site :
The Shure Beta 56®A microphone has a frequency response specifically tailored for drums and instruments. Its extremely uniform supercardioid pickup pattern provides high gain-before-feedback and excellent rejection of unwanted noise.

A built-in dynamic locking stand adapter with an integral XLR connector simplifies installation. The stand adapter keeps the microphone securely in place, even if it is struck by a drumstick. Typical Beta 56A applications include close miking of tom-toms and other percussion instruments, as well as guitar amplifiers, brass instruments, and woodwinds.

Ended up with a Shure 57A Seems to do well still working on getting the "P" and the lows out. Re reading the manual now. By "P" I mean the p when singing into the mic makes a puh sound. Make sense?
