I have just purchased a L1 Model 2 with a Tone Match processor/mixer.
I am unclear just what ToneMatch is. The instrument + mic etc presets do. E.G. If I select e.g mic type SM58 and choose instrument e.g tenor sax. Is simply that the ToneMatch system chooses a preset "suggested" automatic , bass, mid and treble adjustment which I can then fine tune using zEQ ?
Or does the system do more than this ?
Any help explaining this would be appreciated.

We have some notes about

ToneMatch® Technology

You want to select your ToneMatch® Preset first and then fine tune with zEQ just as you anticipated.

Note - the ToneMatch® Presets for Vocal Microphones were created for vocalists rather than instruments, but would expect that a tenor sax is going to sound pretty good with the Presets anyway.

Tonematch is, 1st, the model name of the unit. It does many things. There are presets for mikes and instruments for the 3 mike level inputs + the stereo line input. Each input also allows for adjustment by the user of: eq, para, modulation, delay, reverb, etc. So much flexibility is provided for you. The presets, used alone, work great in many situations. The extra adjustments are for the more discerning and are, at minimum, icing on the cake. I was successful back in the day using the PAS; yet, I yearned for more control and effects on the inputs. This Tonematch unit has been just the ticket. Enjoy!
