I don't get effects out of the Aux even though I click on that feature... no reverb getting through but EQ does.
Life IS Good... just getting a bit expensive! |

Hi Kramster,
Yes, that is what happens. Aux out gets Presets, EQ and all effects EXCEPT reverb. Details here: No Reverb on Aux |

Thanks ST (must stand for Super T...1 guy)... figures that is what I was trying to do.
How about the best way to get some extra bass out of the T1 -> Compact... T1 aux out to bass amp, or T1 pre out to bass amp or the line out of the compact to Bass amp? Life IS Good... just getting a bit expensive! |

Hi Kramster,
T1® Pre Out is tapped before any Presets, EQ or Effects and reflects the input of only one Channel. Channel 1,2,3 - whichever one you are plugged into. T1® Aux Out can be a separate mix of one or all of the T1® Channels with all Presets, EQ, Effects except reverb. The Compact Line Out will give you the same signal you are hearing from the Compact speakers - except - If your input signal is going into Channel 2 AND the ToneMatch switch is on (up) then the Compact Line Out does not go below about 65 Hz. If the ToneMatch switch if off (down), then you get a full range signal that does down as far as the source. So if your source lower than 65 Hz, make sure the ToneMatch switch is off. If you are looking for more bottom end from your keyboard, then you could pick up the signal for the bass amp from any of the places you suggested but if you want to hear any of the effects from the T1® in the bass amp, then use Aux out or the Compact line out (ToneMatch switch off). |

All this has got me thinking. I have 2 T1's and I know there ia no reverb on the Aux out; if I cascade the first T1 (using reverb on all channels) into channel 4/5 on the second T1, will the Aux out on second T1 contain the reverb applied on the first T1 as long as I route channel 4/5 on T1 #2 to the Aux out? Hope this makes sense.

Hi getrythm,
If you take first T1® Master output to the second T1® then yes, you should hear the reverb from the first T1®. If you apply reverb in the second T1® that will not be present in the second T1® Aux out. Only one cable required from first T1® to the second T1® Note - if you connect the first T1® Master Output to the second T1® Channel 4/5, you need only use a ¼ inch jack Tip-Ring-Sleeve connection to Channel 4 or Channel 5 to get the full output of the first T1®. There is no benefit to splitting the signal and combining it by using both Channels 4 AND 5. You stand a greater likelihood of getting little or no signal by using a splitter unless it is wired correctly for this application - and even then, there will be no net gain in signal. |

Understood about the single cable out of the first T1. Thanks for confirming all this ST.

Do you have an unused input on the T1? If so, there's a little more convoluted approach which might give you real detailed control over what you send to the bass amp: -- Master T1 to Compact ... for the sake of clarity, let me assume you are using channels, 1,2, & 4/5 on the T1. Do NOT send those Channels to the AUX. Don't use the Compact ToneMatch (or do use the RCA or 1/8" inputs). -- Take the Compact LineOut back to Channel 3 (assumed empty) on the T1. Turn off the Master output on Channel 3 and route Channel 3 only (Post, not Pre) to the AUX output. -- Connect AUX output to the bass amp. ... Now you can use all the T1 features on Channel 3 to tailor the sound sent to the Bass amp -- such things as Utility Low Pass, and/or zEQ, and/or paraEQ to tailor the sound to the Bass amp to complement the Compact's sound. Because it is routed from the Compact's LineOut, the overall volume will follow the Compact without having to change that % send to the AUX "on-the-fly". Just be sure to follow good gain-staging principles all along the way! I have tried a couple of times using the simpler approach of the Compact's LineOut directly to a Packlite w/ 2 B1's, but that tends to get overly heavy because there is so much overlap in the upper bass and mid-range (no independent volume on the Packlite as well as no control of the frequency band sent to the Packlite). |
