I have the L1 Model 2 (is that the correct name?) with the tone match engine and 2 sub woofers and I'm really liking it but I'm wondering if anyone has plugged in a Yamaha P200 electric piano into it. I've tried a couple of times and I can't get a real good sound, so far, anyways.

I've tried general keys and find it quite bassy and not a lot of definition so I rolled off some low end and boosted the mids some but it still wasn't great.

I then tried a couple of others, I think the fender rhodes setting, possibly and it wasn't as boomy but still not great. Any suggestions?

I gave up, after much time and frustration, trying to use the L1 system direct w/ my Yamaha Motif ES 8. I have opted to using a keyboard amp. It still is one of the more disappointing revalations re: the Bose L1 system format. I perform with Tom Constanten, a real piano player, and he was most dissatisfied until we added a decent key amp.....

The stereo piano "sounds" just won't sound that good because of phase issues going mono... many discussion on that around here.
I bought a Yamaha P120 when I bought my L1 Classic and was sooo disappointed. Had to find a good mono piano... which I found in a GEM pRP7 and today just brought home the new Casio PX 330 and that is working well enough for me.

Many may recommend a keyboard amp or a new keyboard (or module) but before you make that purchase consider a L1 compact and run the keys in stereo.

A good key amp would run nearly as much an L1 compact anyway, and if you could afford to get another L1 (the big boy) you would have even better flexiblity if something broke down.

I run my keys and mics thru a mackie 1202 and into two L1's (with a total of 4 B1's) with the Beta 58 preset.
