last night, i decided to bring the L1c system with me as a back up to my model 2 for a wedding. The original planner called for 160 people. When I got there, only spaces for 120. The hall person said there was no alcohol being served, so he thought there may even be less than that.

having both systems with me, i decided to hook up the compact to see how it sounded in the hall. It sounded excellent. I then (a little bit nervously) decided to try using the compact for the event, having my model 2 as a back up.

I hooked up a t1 to it(the t1 is also my sound card). plenty of mic volume. music sounded excellent.

Throughout the evening, not a ton of dancing, but it was plenty loud enough for the crowd. Tons of compliments.

The room was rectangle. I think about 68 feet by 76. I counted the ceiling tiles(I assumed them to be 4x2) the tiles were 17 by 38.

at the loudest part, the compact channel 2 was at 1 oclock (50 %). the t1 main volume was at 12(40%) and channel 4/5(my computer trim) was at 9oclock(25%). my computer output on ots was at 50%

it was green with a red clip here and there. I am sure with some tweaking, i could get it louder without clipping

walking around the dance floor, it was plenty loud enough. walking in the back of the hall, I could hear a much more noticeable drop off in volume that I wouldn't get with the model 2 or model 1, but for this crowd, it was simply not needed.

I would not hesitate to use this system again for parties up to this size. I also will always have one as a back up. At least from what I know now, I don't think I would use it as a main system for a party any bigger than this. But we do plenty of smaller parties like this

But, after one event, I see this system getting a lot more use than i envisioned when i bought it. Like I said before, I don't think its feasible for a DJ to have just one of these as their system. There will be too many times you'll need more than this can offer. But for the right situation, this is an incredible tool.
