I've gotten many emails concerning the pros & cons of actually touring with the Bose systems. What I think most musicians worry about in any gigging situation is ease of set-up and tear down. I try and explain that the first tendancy as a guitarist at least, is to think of your PS1 as just an amp. I use mine not only as an amp, but my monitors and mains as well. Many of the concert settings I perform in mearly require me to bring a pre-amp head, but I prefer the consistancy of sound the PS1 gives me night in and night out. The nuances are there for the picking no matter what the environment.

But more importantly, it is VERY important to train not only your ear, but the rest of the band to the nuances the PS1 brings to the stage that will eventually allow performing in a more quiet and far more dynamic range and style. It takes time to pull back the volume of the band, and still be able to create enegy and blend your sound like 3 piece harmony all at once.

I promise you, once you have acheived even a small taste of that, you will never go back. Then your music becomes a conversation rather than a lot of chatter. Even in the worst gig scenario, if there is conversation going on amongst your band members, the night will just fly by.

I am planning on attending the Big Sur Bose Bash, and I hope to see and meet many of you there. I'm really looking forward to it.
