Our group, Light of 2 Moons (aka 2 Moons), played in the Cambridge Room at HOB in Cleveland, OH last night. It's not the big room, but still a pretty cool spot. First of all, a thanks to the people at HOB - Chris, Rich, Bevin, Madeline - really nice class-act people.
Rich was the sound guy assigned to us. He was very open to hearing how the Bose systems worked and so we told him to do his thing. We said we'd set up to be happy with our stage volume and let him go from there. His only move was to run line outs from each vocal mic to their mains (they hang above and in front of the stage)and to add a little reverb to the vocals. He panned left/right/center just like we were on the stage so that it wouldn't change the effect of the visual aspect of the sound. Rich said that the room tends to be very dead and eats up reverb so he felt our sound right from the PAS was a little too dry. Finally, since our bass player is only playing through his bass amp, he also ran bass into his main subs. We got really good reviews at the end of the night and enjoyed ourselves immensely on the stage. Here's a photo with our 3 PAS units clearly in view. - blu, April 21, 2006 - full thread here This message has been edited. Last edited by: User Review, |
