Sound engineer and musician tries the L1 Model I with 2 B1's

Hi guys I am new on the forum, and the Bose family!

My name is Jaco and I am from South-Africa. I am a professional sound engineer in my country and also a part time musician. I do a solo act with backing tracks and my acoustic guitar.

I used to have double 15" Wharfedale's for my personal shows. Those got a bit big and I "downscaled" to 2x15" Wharfedale's. I'm personally not a big Fan of wharfedale, but they were quite cheap.

I first heard of the L1 5years ago , but at that stage they were extremely expensive. last year I decided to buy a new system for my shows. After hours on this blog and flicking through the internet I decided that I (And no one else, apparently) couldn't find any reason NOT to buy the L1M1 dual bass. It was a bit of a mission getting it(L1M1) here in South-Africa. Managed to get it here 2 Months later. Expensive, $5 500, but well worth it.

I have worked with all types of sound systems, ranging from EAW,L'accoustics, JBL, Yamaha, Mayer down to Wharfedale and Fane. But never have I had so much fun with any system than with the L1M1 dual B1. The sound IS amazing , trust me I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to sound!!! I am currently running 1xL1M1 with 2xB1's, Sennheizer 965 condencer mic, Yamaha O1V VCM digital desk,Yamaha CPX5 accoustic guitar ( Ovation Applause for backup), and a Digitech vocalist live 4.

The best thing of all is that everything can fit into my Ford Fiesta. No more trailors!!!! I wasn't sure that this "little" system can handle what I have to offer. First things first, HOW THE HELL DO THOSE LITTLE B1's do what they do? It's just incredible!! I have had the system for about 2 months and NEVER have I felt theres not enough bass, in fact I almost always unplug one B1 because its just too much,WOW!. I am used to Double 18" EAW. and the quality of the bass in the B1's are on the same level !!!(REALLY!!) It just fills any room. I read in one of the disscussions that you can turn the B1's around, IT WORKS!! I always put my B1's on top of each other facing a wall ( Dont face them against a window, it will cause damage, lol) and it sounds great!!

The overall sound quality is out of this world. 24 small drivers delivering such good quality sound without even having dome tweeters!!The only problem I had was to get a power inverter as we use 220V outlets in South africa and the system runs on 110V , but got that sorted!

The whole system is truly unique, I am a new user and i Have been through every P.A there is in my counrty. Sure you wont be able to do Big rock shows for 3000 people, but I have done shows for 500 people outdoors, extordinary for a PA(S) that sets up in 5 min.!!

Just wanted to share my opinion with anyone interested in buying a L1 and those allready reaping the bennifits of the L1M1!!
Would love to hear from you guys about your experiences and questions.I will put up a pic or 2 of my setup soon.
HAIL BOSE!!!!
